I wanted to pass on my opinion on a story I read this past week.

A young lady (no names) was blogging and I was listening, she was talking about when to tell your date/partner that you have genital herpes.  Her thought was that she will tell him when she knows he is serious, not before.  A little questioning brought out that they had already had a sexual relationship and that she felt that it was ok to not tell him yet.  I  believe this is a classic case of not taking responsibility for your actions, she needs to tell her dates before sexual relationships and not after.  The problems that could arise for the partner who does not know is a problem that could have been avoided.  If he/she dumps you because you have genital herpes then you don’t need them anyway.  It is time for everyone to take responsibility for their actions and to realize that genital herpes is not a death sentence to relationships or sex, it just means you will have to act responsibly.
